MA-Phyllis Poor-Fiber Hooking of wearables, handbags, and artful home accessories;  RI-Dorothy Healy-carves and paints hard shell Gourds into extraordinary boxes in dazzling colors with calligraphy poems outside and gold leaf interiors;  CT-Ted Demers is inspired by unusual and uniquely formed wood to produce his fine furniture including tables, cabinets, and special order collections;

Ori Goldberg-silver, gold, iron, and mixed materials for poetic combinations of sculpture and jewelry;  Sarah Benson-merges original oil and acrylic painting with collage; Deb Jaffe-hand wrought gold , silver, copper ,brass jewelry, chain maille and modern designed table ware;  Lisa Dalpe-Horse paintings and sculpture.

 

     While dining at the Food Court, lively discussions regarding Mothers Day gift choices accompany savory cuisine and sinful desserts featuring “Thai Taste” unique foods of Thailand;  The Kosciouszko Society-selections include Polish kielbasa, pierogi;  Bucks ice cream, strawberry shortcake, chocolate chip fudgeroll sandwiches; Fresh Lemonade, gourmet coffees and tea, chicken wraps; Glazed Bavarian nuts, carmel corn; Homemade fudge and candy. Sugarless baked nuts.

 

     Twenty jewelers have been selected from over 150 early applicants.  Adornments of handwrought 14 kt gold, sterling silver, fused and hand made glass, pierced world coins, antique silver fork and spoon designs, dichroic glass, precious metal clay, mixed metals, nature walk themes of orphaned earrings and found objects, sea glass beach combings, hand cut unusual gems set in silver, pearls and semi precious stones made into floral garlands, contemporary design, hand constructed gold with precious stones, whimsical polymer clay, Venetian and African glass, hand constructed gold with precious stones and noble metals.

 

     Fiber-women’s linen clothing, batik and tie dyed garments for both adults and children, hand made tapestry jackets and handbags, luxurious Italian silk /woolen combinations joined with ribbons for shawls, necklaces, and stoles; Hand felted hats, buttons and purses;  dresses, bibs, boys embroidered overalls and tops; Knitted baby clothing and holiday gifts; Table linens, wall hangings; Flags.

     Ceramics: Functional  and sculptural Stoneware, pottery-incised, embossed, embellished, and glazed with peacock feathers that is hand built, high fired, in a great variety of vases, tiles, bowls, angels for both garden and table  festivities.

 

     Glass: Hand blown paperweights, vases, ornaments, stained, fused, and painted.

      Wood: Turned bowls and utensils; childrens’ puzzles, toys; pine country furniture, birdhouses, signs, Americana and folk art cats;  Modern and traditional furniture of domestic and exotic timber with wood or granite tops.  Illuminated ptg. gemstone&tempera pigmented colors on stilled- wooden stringed instruments/viol.

   

     18 Fine Art photographers juried for excellence showcasing -seasonal scenes, ships, sails, sunrises, sunsets, seascapes, still life, wildlife –nature, classic castles and archaic architecture, local marsh, meadow, mountain hill and lake, and travel.

             MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND 44TH SPRING MEET THE ARTISTS AND ARTISANS

May 13 and 14 heralds the first 2006 major Art and Handcraft Show in the north east , presented by Meet the Artists and Artisans on the Milford Green from 10 till 5, rain or shine, free admission.

     An exciting  array of new and returning exhibitors from Maine to California introduce and feature-Pat Zahoruiko/Corinth VT. Whose natural woodland furnishings are an exuberant array of imagination and creative use of New England’s bark, branches, burls, and twigs’. Pat works on location, has been with us for 9 years and transforms her forest treasures into desks, benches, tables, chairs, mirrors, and lamps’.  Mary Beagle paints Native American subjects, wild life, and Southwestern themes.  Robin Emrich   hand colors his etchings, and designs some in a 3D motif.

      Three solo guitarists include Russell Donnellon/Youngstown Ohio who headlined the 2002 New York Guitar Fest, and is an innovative and versatile performer whose style reflects the wide scope of his influences joining classical guitar with the harmonic, and improvisational impulse of jazz, romantic and deeply textured, vivid Brazilian,Caribbean, Flamenco, Pop, and Blues rhythyms.

Gregory Pearce accompanies his wife Liesel Dalpe  presenting her paintings & sculptures of horses with soft, relaxing music while he plays.  Glenn Roth gathers crowds with his solo fingerstyle.

      Local CT exhibitors –Milford/Betsy Wright –floral watercolors and collage caricatures of newsworthy people; Karen Lojko-mosaic table ware=trays, trivets, lazy susans’, wall hangings.

Diana and Kevin Gallagher travel far to photograph birds, wild life, and wolves; Seymour-Nicole Kohut Lynch began her career with me when she was a talented 16 year old, she enthralls viewers with her oil paintings of animals, wild life, and pet portraits  while they watch her draw and paint.

Trumbull-Michele Hofbauer- childrens illustrations and book signing of her “The Bug and the Slug in the Rug” written by comedian Steve Allen, and “Couldn’t we make a difference” selected by Maureen Magovern and set to music and recorded with the United Nations Childrens Choir.

Carol Martin collects, cards, dyes, spins wool from local sheep..selling yarn and knitting at the show.  Eileen Barthel= stitches sheepskin for slippers, boots, capes hats, and vests also leather moccasins, sandals and halter tops.  Odilla Morrell/paints aquarelles of local landmarks and Europe( here Sat . only).  Lisa Cuscuna= Extraordinary photography prints her surrealistic landscapes  using archival paper and inks to create magnificent scenes which have been exhibited in the American Museum of Natural History and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne Switzerland.

            From California Juan Lee-hand glazes bas relief and 3 Dimensional painted ceramic tiles:  Phyllis Knight of Charlotte, North Carolina makes paper for her water color painting and collage:

Kathleen Teach /Bonita Springs FL.  drills’ unusual natural slate inserting oil lamps: New York= Joanne Schmitt makes us smile with  FI-DOUGH gourmet dog treats for all size dogs, including big Birthday bone shaped cakes.   Barry Boobis /pastel and mixed media painting and drawings; Lawrence Chanin/bronze and pewter miniature sculptures.

       The food Court will premiere “Lazy Lobster” serving Hot, buttery lobster rolls, clam chowder, corn on the cob and lobster bisque.  Boy Scout Troop #196 will be serving Breakfast and American Fare=Hot Dogs and Hamburgers.  Cub Scout Pack 712 will be break  sitting and hosting exhibitors.
