MAY 10th & 11th MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND, THE MILFORD GREEN WILL AGAIN BE THE PLACE TO BE, FOR THE 46th annual MEET THE ARTISTS AND ARTISANS SPRING SHOW-from 10 to 5. Awarded #8 for the BEST TEN FINE ART SHOWS IN THE NORTH EAST, and 69th in the BEST TOP 100 FINE ART SHOWS IN THE U.S.

People love this festival, the beautiful grass covered green adorned with flower gardens and shade trees, in the center of a charming coastal city, provides a wonderful venue to host creative exhibitors juried for their aesthetic style, and the unique quality of their endeavors. Never boring or repetitive, this festival continues the replenishment of new exhibitors from throughout N. America. Coordinator/director Denise morris Curt gathers new talent from Canada to Wisconsin, contributing fresh and original skills to this well established show.

Returning artists bring their winter efforts, and selected new participants include= FL. Jim Beran’s laugh out loud satirical drawings of professions, art shows, sports, and passions; Wind activated- welded bronze kinetic sculptures; Colorful, contemporary, paintings depicting people and favorite animals in whimsical and serious situations. Authors sign their books, Billy Dougal draws caricatures on the spot. 17 photographers- present scenic photographs mounted behind widows, printed on canvas, velvet, paper giclee prints, angel sculptures, castles, international travel, tea time, Amish people- rural PA., New England gardens, vanishing landscapes, local and area scenes, nature ,mountains, sea, cityscapes, floral, botanical close-ups, portraits, surrealistic photo assemblages, and architecture.

Ikra Weiss a resident of Hamburg Germany, features her paintings on silk, and Japanese calligraphic wall hangings; Timothy McCune of Quebec turns, sculpts, and fabricates art furniture and accessories of domestic and exotic hardwood, magnificent long tables with complete city architectural sites beneath that are breathtaking in their minute detail & intricate composition; Two Rumanian artists Liviu Cupceancu does striking carved sculptures, linoblock and linoleum prints, while Blanche Serban paints oil and watercolor- scenic and cityscapes; Michael McCarthy carves water and shore birds on site; Kenneth Coyne turns pieces of trees on his lathe, shaping, hollowing, and rounding them into bowls; Greg Stones returns with humorous water color miniatures and penguin books, and Tony Juliano’s witty visual parodies are crowd pleasers. 18 jewelers offer hand wrought 18 and 14 kt gold, precious gems, organic designs, asymmetrical shapes, sterling silver woven baskets, feathers, silver cuffs and necklaces for men and women, sea glass,immensely imaginative art to wear, orphan earring projects, vintage inspired new and recycled elements. Jewelry demo’s include chain maille, knitted , crocheted, wire, polymer Victorian styles , and firing hand made, lamp worked beads, in millefiori patterns and variations.

Inventive creators present- welded steel armillary spheres, garden obelisks and pedestals, sculptures in wood, stone, metal found objects. Visual artists feature hand colored etchings and collage; Oil and water color portraits of your home, tranquil refuges, florals, animal, architectural, bird ,nature, marine, garden ,studies. Impressionistic 4x4 miniature oil panel paintings, oversized marine acrylic originals, chiaroscuro fruit and flower oils on Belgian linen. Gem and jewel dust paints on archaic wood panels and stilled stringed instruments. 

Artisans present: Stained, fused, blown Art Glass; Hand woven reed baskets with antler handles; Natural indigo dyed fiber-table/bed spreads; Flags and custom banners; Fabric travel organizers, brief bags; Coordinated/reversible table and kitchen linens; Knitted layettes, scarves, shawls, wearing apparel; Soft leather classically styled bags, purses, and pouches. Needle and hand felted outerwear, sculptures, wall hangings; One of a kind- hand painted silk clothing, cocktail purses; Linen women’s ensembles, hand painted fashions; Doll and bear outfits; Silk and dried floral swags, garlands, wreaths, and arrangements; Charming botanical antique window frames: 3 dimensional wooden marquetry pictures; Hand turned exotic wood pens, perfume applicators; Texas Cedar bird homes; Driftwood rustic furniture painted with wild life and floral décor, carved bass, tulip and driftwood fish; Elegant custom made furniture from New England’s forests; Whimsical painted signs, painted mail boxes, bird house, and buoy’s; Ceramic- copper wind chimes and tile house numbers; Jim and Jan Sprinkle-Charlottesville VA-segmented, sculpted and turned wooden bowls. WI.- Ken D’Addario stitches brightly colored fabric, fantasy play tents and teepees.

Hand built stoneware, woven clay platters, bowls and baskets; Mosaic frames, lazy susans; Functional stoneware “Fire Witch” feather and gem embellished serving pieces; Sculptural- conventional, and figurative pottery, high to low firings; Ceramic garden mushrooms, frogs, gecko’s. Porcelain with hand lettered words of wisdom, to cheer you each day. Woodbridge CT-Gail Markiewicz-Textured clay stoneware sculptures=Using a patchwork technique to join the vessel interiors, she dries and builds many times, then frequently refires and paints- air brushing first, hand painting layer upon layer till the object is glazed with a clear, gloss, glaze, giving the appearance of being enveloped by a sheet of glass.
