MEET THE ARTISTS AND ARTISANS AT MYSTIC-OLDE MISTICK VILLAGE, 

35th  ANNUAL SUMMER SHOW  JULY 19 -20  

FROM 10 TILL 6 PM,  I-95 Seaport exit # 90

A  great selection of juried fine artists and handcrafters from ten states present, discuss, demonstrate, and sell  their original work in the charming Apple Orchard of the Village on Rt. 27 - Coogans Blvd.  (Steak Loft Restaurant) is next to the Orchard.

 

Featured / returning exhibitors  include:  Mary Beagle of Coventry, CT- whose carefully rendered interpretive oil paintings of wildlife and the people of Mesilla Valley, (Las Cruces N.M.) include children in folkloric costumes and generational portraiture. ME.-John Burr –acrylic, reverse painting on glass, impressions;  R.I.- Lee Coulter –wind activated kinetic sculptures in brass and copper, that turn effortlessly in a light wind creating a graceful ballet. Contemporary bronze sculptures and wall pieces-colored patina; Denise morris Curt –-silenced- cello, violin, bass, painted with oil, tempera, gem and jewel pigments to illuminate the ancient stilled instruments;  Bruce Dumas-realistic acrylic paintings of coastal New Englands’ shore line, harbors, homes and wild life;  Anne Vaillencourt-original water color and pastel paintings of country scenes and roadways,  land scapes, and  floral studies in tranquil gardens;   Photographers:= ME.-Marty Harris black and white outdoors and seasonal selections; R.I.-Charles Hull-giclee’s on gallery canvas, luscious fruit still life portraits,  regional and historic landmarks; -Romantic Renaissance Reflections;  MA.-Herman Meissner-b/w photos on sea shells, glass, stone.

 

Ohio brings Tamara Weaver “Glass Weaver Studio”  Kiln cast glass, hand carved relief forms.  Her mystic images and depth are created from glass in a manner similar to paint layering. “Glass is a world of fantasy and experimentation with unending possibilities”;

Demonstrating exhibitors are CT- Bill Dougal –On site caricatures, Anna Liss-polymer clay Victorian 3 D jewelry;  MA- Kenneth Lindgren turned and unique wooden vessels, bowls, and sculptures of local and exotic wood; N.H.- Brian and Adar OHare-High fired functional wheel thrown pottery, and garden vases;  FL-Raymond Decker-hand cut semiprecious stone and geode oil lamps; Som Clarke- Macrame` childrens name bracelets.

 

Hand made quilts, painted/decorative gourds, childrens clothing with matching doll wardrobes;  Antique window framed dried botanical flowers;  Hand felted and pieced scarves, poncho’s, blankets, hats;  Sand blasted glass objects and marine paintings; Household linens, fabric home and purse accessories;  Mosaic frames and stepping stones; Wooden pens and jewel cases,  needle point pillows;  Ceramic and copper wind chimes, tile house numbers;  Herbal soaps, lotions, butters; “Providence Glass”-hand blown glass and colorful sculptures;  Coordinated place mats, table runners,  and table cloth toppers; “Fire witch”-artistic stoneware, embellished with beads, glass, and peacock feathers;  “The Tischlers” Sculptural, figurative, painted and glazed pottery with whimsical decorative faces;  R.I. –Mike Iacona-3 Dimensional inlaid wood marquetry wall hangings;  Author James Dongweck autographs his childrens book”The Dragon Cant”; Jewelry collectors will find-Hand wrought gold and sterling, sea glass constructions; immensely imaginative art to wear, hand made lamp worked glass, men and womens silver/ beaded bracelets.
