Milford, CT. May 9 - 10 MEET THE ARTISTS AND ARTISANS 47TH Annual Spring Show on the Milford Green Show..10-5 whatever the weather!
FREE ADMISSION. Directions; I-95 north exit 37, South-39A..follow yellow artist artisan-arrow signs. Merrit/Wilbur Cross Exit 54 to NY South on U.S. l to High ST. The Historic Milford Green at High and Broad Streets in downtown Milford.
Mothers Day weekend will be the opening arrival of juried fine artists and handcrafters presenting their creative winter productions of beauty and skill to grace and energize
Milford center . Many new participants introduce renewed, or unfamiliar styles, free to the public. On site demonstrations of painting, drawing, wood carved water and shore birds, portraiture, caricatures, spinning hand dyed yarn, mosaic frame making, tatted-shuttle lace, knitting, wood turned vessels, glass making. Twelve states represent
participants.

The most popular category of jewelry is filled, with a waiting list, and over 60 refusals. Those selected include: On site demonstrating exhibitors include-Sterling silver chain mail, and custom made “autism fidget toys”. Victorian and art nouveau polymer clay; Lamp worked torch made glass beads; Glass fusing and dichroic pendants; Precious metal clay; Hand wrought noble metals; Miniature story books; Woven, crocheted, beaded peyote, spiral, square stitch, glass necklaces. The introduction of black diamonds, precious and semi precious gem stones, minerals, unique artifacts, vintage and orphaned elements, fossils, pearls, create a competitive assortment of distinctive jewelry for men and
women.

Three authors sign their published work. James Dongweck “The Dragon Can’t”, presents his brand new
“The Uncrossable Canyon”; Robert Holland selects his “Books for Boys” Henry Dana Rotman of
Milford “On My Watch”, a coffee table sized illustrated volume.*
Five sculptors will be featured: Joe De Marco, who sold his giant metal ballerina to a Florida Museum at last falls show, brings his life sized animals, moose/giraffe, and stone heads; Sonny Cardinali-whose torch welded, witty figures amuse and delight, adds large kinetic garden pieces; Domenic Belli,-iron birds, courting lovers, towering flowers; Ron Stinson, -contemporary steel expressions for office entryways, lobbies, and wall hangings; Wojsiech Grzemski, -crystalline ceramic torso’s, oversized chargers, vases, and
vessels.

All manner of paintings, in every medium, new this year - J.D. Logan, acrylic contemporary folk art; Steve Rogers, of
Lewes, DE - original paintings of the sea, and hand made ship models; Don Reed, N.H. abstract, non representative oil paintings; Nancy Riccio, Rustic furniture that is painted, and carved with natural animal and sea life studies; Dorothy DeMatteis, NJ.- Colorful and humorous paintings of musicians, people, and animals.

The Food Court presents-Thai Taste of New Haven , pad thai, garlic chicken; Bucks homemade ice cream; Armstrong of FL, fruit smoothies, cheese and fruit
shortcakes; Costa’s Greek/Spanish, shish kebab, gyros, pita platters, veggie rice, quesadilla, lemonade. The Boy Scouts serve American breakfast and lunch, and recycle the cans/ bottles as a fund raiser for their troop. They also police the green to keep it pristine

The 47th show adds “The Greening” of the "Milford" Green, with numerous environmental groups invited to share their knowledge of conserving the trees, gardens, ponds and woodlands that beautify our area. Milford Garden Club, Community Gardens, green rooms by architect Arthur Ratner, the greening of the Post Rd, Milford Trees , E.E.C. ,are all experts in their field and willing to share knowledge with the public, who may want to interact as members/ volunteers with these preservation and consciousness raising
citizens.
