48th SPRING MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND MTA&A

48th MEET THE ARTISTS AND ARTISANS SPRING MOTHERS DAY SHOW THE MILFORD GREEN , AT HIGH AND BROAD ST. HELD 10 TO 5. FREE ADMISSION. RAIN OR SHINE. DIRECTIONS: I-95 NORTH -EXIT #37 HIGH ST, SOUTH -EXIT #39A. MERRIT PKWY/ WILBUR CROSS #54 MTA&A is the 2009 CT. recipient for the National Best 100 Fine U.S. Art Shows 


Many new exhibitors have been juried along with returning favorites to this well established, high criteria show. SCULPTORS include: RON STINSON- Metal Expressions Ltd. of Carlisle PA., fountains, table sculpture, custom designs using natures repeated patterns, floral/tree designs, vines, flowers, abstract and aquatic designs for glass and steel tables. Sand blasting, and oven firing create chemical patina’s bringing out endless colored surfaces; MA.-DALE ROGERS-welds stainless steel and cor ten metal for his large scale outdoor sculptures. Last year Dale launched the “Big Dog Show”, consisting of 20 8’ high x10’ long, 800 pound sculptures sent to 6 city parks in 3 states. Dale is one of America’s premier emerging sculptors, having public art pieces in over 20 cities, represented in So. San Francisco, Longs Park-Lancaster PA., Ocean City, NJ., Belleville IL, and Newburyport MA; Milford, CT.- SONNY CARDINALI creates witty, iron garden statuary and furniture. Kinetic outdoor sculptures capture the wind from all directions, causing an inescapable urge to watch their movements.

Rocky Hill CT.- DON HUTCHINSON trained at the Rochester NY Institute of Technology, for over 25 years has been shooting advertising/ graphic trade images. His photography, has now expanded to visualize a different view of the world around us; NY-JOEL ZARETSKY- is an inventive and experimental artist, featuring vinyl copolymer, metal pigmented, expressionistic paintings. “Slurry reliefs”, appear to be dripping metal, sculpted, wall hangings; MATTHIAS FINKE- grew up in Germany, his studio, now in Rochester NY displays photos covering a wide variety of subjects/locations. Coastal scenes, deserts, natural abstracts, collages utilizing rich colors, interesting shapes and structures: JILL MULRYof Seminole, FL. “Orchid Babies”. Featured guest artist @ the 19th World Orchid Conference last year. Her photos have a painterly feel, using gentle filters, her flowers are magnificent renditions. 
MA-JOHN & VICKI SLONINA photograph wild animals with endearing results, Bear and moose families , puzzled owls, elegant eagles, and superb bird studies; NH. AARON SLATER-creates wondrous glass worlds of colored fantasy, with his flame worked marbles, finger rings, and suspended ornaments. 

CHARLES TERSOLO - lives in Boston, and is inspired by the creative possibilities of the city. A full time fine art oil painter for 7 years, he is a member of the Copley Society of Art, represented by six MA. gallery’s, along with Santa Fe’s Canyon Road. His architectural oil paintings of Europe, the Southwest, New York and Boston capture inspiration of experiencing great buildings. Using a transparent color glaze he transforms underlying brush work, causing qualities of his subjects to change in style/mood from different viewings/angles.

MA.-LISA STRACHAN- has worked with porcelain for 16 years. Her display of beautiful objects is entirely hand built, designed, glazed, fired, using slab techniques for all her work. Botanical and repeat patterns drawn by hand with porcelain slip, lend graceful decoration to this fully functional, lovely work. FL.-MELISSA MASTRANGELO -oil/ acrylic paintings on canvas, relating powerful portrayals of musicians, family gatherings and casual life in the Old South.

The jurying continues to bring the best of the best demonstrating jewelers, potters, weavers, stitchers, floral designers, clothiers, sketchers, artists, bird carving, intarsia, wood turners, glass demo artisans, photographers, sculptors, painters in all mediums, to the Green. 

Look for our Art Angel Billboard to appear on I-95 North exit 32, April-May, and updated press releases. Customer parking will be available at various lots on or close to the green. This is a categorized show with limits in each medium to uphold the criteria that has been awarded us each year. To be juried, all work must be created and made by the exhibitor. Send jpeg/cd/ or 5- 4x6 photo close ups of original work, 2 of display. No middlemen, dealers, manufactured articles, buy sell, imports allowed. The food court will feature Milford Boy Scouts breakfast and lunch; Thai Taste of New Haven with Thai food; Homemade fudge, chocolates; new food additions- announced. Classical harp in the band stand, musicians throughout the green, blossoming trees overhead, gardens in bloom. Spring -Meet the Artists and Artisans 48th annual Art and Handcraft show!
