Meet the Artists and Artisans (MTA&A) returns to Milford, CT. Mothers day weekend for an unprecedented gala Spring show. MTA&A features nationally juried fine artists, sculptors, photographers, graphic illustrators, who will be painting on site-murals, oversized canvases, sketching portraits and caricatures on location, while handcrafters demonstrate bird carving, weaving, glass making, jewelry assemblage. Experience the thrill of the creative process as you discover artists and artisans making their magic. Juried exhibitors from coast to coast arrive from throughout CT. FL. GA. MA. ME. MI. MN. NH. NJ. NY. PA. RI. Join returning favorites with a kaleidoscopic array of the absolute best in skilled, creative, unconventional and exciting art forms that have earned MTA&A the honor of being chosen as the only Best Fine Art Show in CT for 2010 for ‘the Best 100 Fine Art shows in the U.S.” by Sunshine Artists of Orlando FL., Americas Premier Art and Craft Magazine. Award winning national and newly juried exhibitors will discuss, demonstrate, and sell their original work.

15 photographers present views of nature, wild life, animal, floral studies, “Orchid babies”, Chinese, Irish, Greek, Italian vista’s; still life subjects; exotic escapes; modern and ancient architecture; sacred groves; local land and sea scapes, printed on canvas, ceramic tile, and archival papers. 18 jewelers, chosen from hordes of competitors offer fine gold and silver with custom cut gem stones, hand wrought sterling; Demonstrations of dichroic, fused, and lamp worked glass, polymer clay, precious metal clay. 

Diane Kaylor brings her time consuming fabric and metal collage paintings and interactive art boards. Shengzhu Bernardin dyes blue and white fabric with indigo, creating accessories and articles for home. Ingrid Lavoie cuts intricate, fantastic designs with paper “Scherenschnitte” which grace delicate invitations and large framed “Old World” presentations. Lisa Beth Billingsley “The Seaweed Queen” arranges seaweed and flower petal collages to accomplish portraits and modern acrylic assemblages of whimsy and great imagination.

Contemporary Nantucket and Island Porch oil paintings on canvas and doors, commissions on site. Museum quality fine artists working in oil, acrylic, water colors, gouache, pastel, aquarelles, conte crayon, hand ground jewel/mineral pigmented paints, invite the public to share their lifetime journeys of experimentation, answering why and what encouraged them to follow their artistic and creative paths. Such a wealth of talent produces many hand crafters working with wood. Wood turned vessels, carvings, sculptures, vases, bowls, boxes, birdhouses, children’s furniture. Fiber crafts: Quilts, tapestry and hand painted women’s wear, trapunto hanging wall pictures, batik/marble dyed children’s clothing, Reversible table linens, dining, purse, home accessories. Metal sculptures for wind, gardens, interiors.

Famous musicians returning are: FL Russell Donnellen classical guitar flamenco and classic interpretations. David Young-Michigans internationally famous double flute player, who has sold millions of his cd’s. Milfords own classical pedal harpist in the bandstand-Jan Baldwin; Tim Payson on keyboard with soft jazz and relaxing music to daydream by. The food court hosts an international variety of ethnic foods-Thai Taste- pad thai, garlic or cashew chicken; Grecian Delights- serving gyros, kebab, quesadilla, salads. Boy Scout troop 1 Breakfast, coffee, American fare- hamburgers, frankfurters.
Grannys Lemonade carts throughout the show, hand made chocolates, baked nuts, ice cream etc.
